Book Series on Hold

Sometimes you stay invested, other times… you just grow distant and the love fades.  Then perhaps, the attraction was never there to begin with. Here are some book series on indefinite hold.

Elemental Assassin by Jennifer Estep
Last book read: Heart of Venom Book 9
I just didn’t care for Gin, the main heroine anymore. After the biggest boss died, it was too episodic and her personality began to grate on me.

Watersong by Amanda Hocking
Last book read : Lullaby Book 2
Honestly, I was severely disappointed in this series. So much. It had such a great premise but the execution and story were so juvenile and vapid. Harsh, I know but I was just so disinterested that I couldn’t bring myself to read more. This is coming from someone who has read all of Hocking’s other works. I adored Trylle so I will pick up the series that picks up from that universe later this year (2014).

Lux by Jennifer Armentrout
Last book read: Opal Book 3
Ok, this was actually kind of interesting in that we were dealing with Aliens instead of Vampires. But then eventually it was a little, am I reading Twilight? Those are unfair and probably pretty biased opinions of my own because I’ve stopped reading this series a while back and I can’t pinpoint why I stopped other than it wasn’t amazing and it wasn’t anything I haven’t really read before. I’m also sick, SICK of heroines who blindly sacrifice everything.

Divergent by Veronica Roth
Last book read: Insurgent Book 2
Most people should be familiar with this one. It’s a major movie at this point!  Though I admit I was always curious as to why they jumped so quickly into this series, even before the third book was published. Then it was and the shit hit the fan. Needless to say, I’m worried about that fan. I have this book and it’s been on my kindle since the day it was published.  That’s about nine months now. I just can’t bring myself to read it. I enjoyed the first book a lot. Then the second one was a little…. meh. Let’s see how long it takes me to get around to it!

Dresden Files by Jim Butcher
Last book Read: Storm Front Book 1
The first book was fine. It was ok. It wasn’t great and didn’t make me want to pick up a second book immediately. Maybe it’s because I’m not totally into urban fantasy without at least an offshoot of some teeny tiny bit of romance. Just give me a scrap! Yes, maybe that’s it.

Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
Last book read: Book 3
I’m just not interested in Sydney as a character. Adrian is interesting but with Sydney he’s a little dull. The continuing series from Vampire Academy just seems dragged out, so I’ve lost interest in their world.
